Mental Health Center of North Central Alabama is seeking sealed bids for construction of a 16-Bed Crisis Residential Unit located at 4110 US Highway 31 5 in Decatur, AL 35603. The Project is a new one-story behavioral health project, approximately 11,000 square feet, consisting of light weight metal trusses, metal stud walls, limited structural steel posts and beams, brick, and an asphalt shingle roof system with some metal roof. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Mental Health Center of North Central Alabama, Inc. in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany each bid. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. Only General Contractors and Subcontractors (within the categories requiring pre- qualification) who have been approved to bid pursuant to pre-qualification procedures and criteria established by the Owner will be eligible to bid the Project. The General Contractor and the following Subcontractors are required to be pre-qualified: Roofing Subcontractor, Mechanical Subcontractor, Plumbing Subcontractor, and Electrical Subcontractor. Non resident bidders must accompany any written bid documents with a written opinion of an attorney at law licensed to practice law in such non resident bidder's state of domicile, as to the preferences, if any or none, granted by the law of that state to its own business entities whose principal places of business are in that state in the letting of any or all public contracts. Pre-qualification documents are due by 5:00 p.m. Friday, July 26th. CSA will have the approved list of General Contractors and Subcontractors by August 15th The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.
