The Cogeneration System Improvements project will include the demolition of the existing and replacement with new cogeneration engine, digester gas conditioning equipment, exhaust systems, and boiler as well as upgrades to electrical and control infrastructure and demolition of an existing digester gas storage sphere. An existing gas storage sphere will also be demolished as part of this project. This project is eligible for federal tax credits for the District under the Inflation Reduction Act, but specific requirements must be met by both the District and Contractor under the IRS regulations regarding labor, scheduling, and domestic content to maintain the integrity of the Inflation Reduction Act. Portions of the work are required to be completed before December 31, 2024 while the remainder of the work is required to be completed within nine hundred sixty (960) consecutive days from the date established in the Notice to Proceed for the commencement of Contract Time.
