Remodeling of a fire / police facility in Haddam, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the remodel of a fire / police facility.

The Town of Haddam / Haddam Volunteer Fire Company is requesting bids from Connecticut licensed contractors to perform exterior remodeling including but not limited to; roof, siding, gutters, doors, and windows for two firehouse locations. See project description for more details. Projects are located at Saybrook Road in Haddam and Killingworth Road in Higganum. All inquiries relative to the conditions and specifications listed herein as well as clarification of any information contained or referenced in this bid must be submitted to Scott Larson, President - Haddam Volunteer Fire Company at 860-918-3390 or slarson@haddamfire.org Station 2 Firehouse 1010 Saybrook Road. Haddam, CT 06438 1. Sign: o The sign over the bay door shall be taken down and re-installed after the work is completed. 2. Roof: o Strip existing asphalt roof completely. Repair and/or replace any plywood underlayment to be determined. o Install new roof and ridge vent using Certainteed Landmark or approved equivalent architectural shingles. Color to be approved by Fire Company. o Ice and water and 15# felt underlayment to be installed according to manufacturer's specifications and according to local building codes. o Cupola to be resided to match the new building siding. 3. Gutters: o Seamless gutters to be installed along the front and rear of the building. 4. Front Walk-Through Door: o Replace front door and jamb with new prefinished (white/white) fiberglass Therma-Tru door, single bore, RHOS, half-light, GBG and new closer. Reinstall existing locking passage set. 5. Rear Walk-Through Doors (2): o Existing steel doors and jambs should be sanded, primed, and painted white. 6. Front Windows (2): o The two front picture windows to be replaced with two Wincore (or approved substitute) new construction vinyl picture windows, 3 1/2 " flat casing w/J, low E glass. Sized to fit existing rough opening 7. Siding: o The existing vinyl siding shall be removed. o The existing underlayment to remain. (repair/replace as needed) o The siding shall be replaced with Certainteed Monogram D4 vinyl siding in Autumn Red. o All trim; corners, skirt boards, fascia, entry doors and overhead doors shall be all trimmed using Certainteed solid White PVC (or approved equivalent). All PVC trim to be installed per the manufacturer's instructions. o The corners will be 5 1/2 " with built in J. o Skirt (across the front only) will be 12". o Entry doors trim will be 3" with built in J. o Overhead doors will have 5 1/2 " casings w/J and PVC jambs, (sized accordingly). Overhead door gaskets to be reinstalled and/or replaced as necessary. o The facia board will be 5 1/2 ". o The front porch columns will be wrapped with 5 1/2 " PVC. o The sofit will be replaced with Certainteed fully vented vinyl soffit in white. o The porch ceiling (at front entrance) will be replaced with Certainteed vinyl Beadboard in Bermuda Blue. o The two vents on the rear of the building behind the generator shall be replaced. Station 3 Firehouse 1040 Killingworth Road Higganum, CT 06441 1. Front Walk-Through Door: o Replace front door and jamb with new prefinished (white/white) fiberglass Therma-Tru door, single bore, RHOS, half-light, GBG and new closer. Reinstall existing locking passage set. 2. Rear Walk-Through Door: o Existing steel door and jamb should be sanded, primed, and painted white. 3. Sofit & Facia Board: o The facia board shall be a Certainteed solid White PVC facia board. o The sofit will be replaced with Certainteed fully vented vinyl soffit in white. o The siding at the end of the porch overhang shall be replaced with a Certainteed Vertical Siding in while to match the facia board. o The porch ceiling (at front entrance) will be replaced with Certainteed vinyl Beadboard in Bermuda Blue. 4. Windows (5): o The existing window frames/trim shall be sanded primed and painted white to match the new door and facia board. o The steel header above each window shall be sanded, primed and painted white to match the new door and facia board. 5. Overhead Doors: o The steel framing and overhead header around the overhead doors shall all be sanded, primed, and painted white. Bid results will be available Friday, July 19, 2024 online. The Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and qualified bidder possessing the skill, ability, and integrity necessary to perform the work in good faith. Award to other than the apparent low bidder: The Town of Haddam reserves the right to award the work to a proposer other than the one which submitted the lowest price if it deems such action to be in the best interest of the Town of Haddam.
