The City of Ottawa is looking for a vendor to provide all labour, equipment and materials for Sidewalk Inspections Services to perform sidewalk hazard identification and condition assessments on approximately 2,644kms of sidewalks. The City is seeking a vendor for Sidewalk Inspections Services to perform sidewalk hazard identification and condition assessments on 2,644km of sidewalks, for the 2024 season. Subsequent years beyond 2024 may include additional growth of the inventory requiring assessment. The schedule is for work to commence after award in 2024, following the seasonal freeze- thaw period. The start date in subsequent years will be set with the approval of the Roads Director or designate after the freeze-thaw period concludes within the City's parameters. The vendor is responsible for ensuring that all data is delivered to the City and that delivery must be completed by October 1st of each calendar year of the contract. A "condition assessment" should be reflected in the form of a point snapped geographically over top of the sidewalk line data (provided to the vendor by the city) every 10 metres, and rates the overall condition on a 5-point scale (see table below). "Hazard identification / surface discontinuities" should be reflected in the form of a point for each occurrence snapped geographically over top of the sidewalk line data (provided to the vendor by the city) identified by priority A or B (see table below).
