The City of Lewisville is requesting competitive sealed proposals from qualified contractors to design and install four (4) pedestrian bridges. Description Design, fabricate, and install pedestrian bridges constructed of fiber reinforced polymer truss bridge spans including bearing devices, anchor bolts, bridge deck, and pedestrian railings. a. Design The Contractor is responsible for the structural adequacy of the pedestrian fiber reinforced polymer truss bridge span design. Submit in your proposal details and design calculations bearing the seal of a licensed Texas Professional Engineer for review and approval by the City or its designees. Include the truss span superstructure, bearing devices, anchor bolts, bridge deck, and bridge railing with accessibility handrails when required. Bridge designs can be arched or flat. Design pedestrian railing in accordance with City and State requirements for pedestrian railing. Railing may be integral with through truss members provided it satisfies LRFD Specification requirements. 2. Fabrication a. Prepare and submit detailed shop drawings for: i. Layout of the complete bridge assembly indicating span lengths, widths, location of bearing assemblies, and top of bearing seat elevations at bridge abutments. ii. Truss span superstructure, bearing devices, anchor bolts and embedment, bridge deck, and bridge railing with accessibility handrails when required
