The Gannoway Lake Trail is a key part of the City of Sugar Land efforts to improve bicycle and pedestrian connectivity and recreational elements. Refer to Exhibit A-1 for a project map. Gannoway Lake is a key area for closer consideration in the City of Sugar Land 2018 Parks, Recreation, & Open Space Master Plan and a top priority for improvements for residents. The proposed trail also meets the vision of the 2023 Sugar Land Mobility Master Plan as a connection The Gannoway Lake Trail generally includes construction of a 10-foot-wide shared use path along Burney Rd. from Voss Rd. to Oyster Creek then west along Oyster Creek to Cullinan Park with the following improvements: boardwalk along the south edge of Gannoway Lake connection to Imperial Trails pedestrian intersection safety improvements at SH6 widening of the existing pedestrian bridge over Oyster Creek adjacent to SH 6 parking at the trail head adjacent to Burney Rd loop trails near Gannoway Lake Additional duties include but are not limited to surveying, geotechnical engineering services, design and review compliant with TDLR and ADA requirements, coordination of utilities location and relocation (as required), traffic signal modifications, completion of an environmental assessment in accordance with TxDOT and FHWA requirements and environmental clearance for the entire length of the project limits, and bidding and construction phase services.
