The City of West Haven (hereafter referred to as the City) is seeking proposals from Qualified tree service companies to provide comprehensive tree managements services for the upcoming fiscal year. Our requirements for the selected vendor will include but are limited to tree and brush trimming, the cutting down and removal of large trees, and stump grinding with the jurisdiction of the City's limits, ensuring prompt response to emergencies, and performing other related tasks as needed. The purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals from vendors who can deliver efficient and effective tree and brush services including but not limited to tree and brush trimming, the cutting down and removal, pruning, and tree planting as well as stump grinding. The vendor must be equipped and staffed to handle all tree and brush related tasks across the entire city. The City will guarantee 3 full days of work for 10 months As part of this RFP, all respondents are required to submit a performance bond. The performance bond serves as a financial guarantee that the successful contractor (bidder) will fulfill all contractual obligations as specified in the agreement. The bond amount must be sufficient to cover the total cost of the project, ensuring that the City is protected against any potential default or non-performance by the contractor. The performance bond must be issued by a surety company licensed to conduct business in the State of Connecticut and must remain in effect for the duration of the contract. The scope of work for this project includes, but is not limited to: 1. Tree Pruning and Removal: Pruning and removal of trees as scheduled by the Tree Warden and the Commissioner of Public Works. 2. Brush Trimming: Regular trimming of brush to maintain clear and safe public spaces. 3. Stump Grinding: Removal of tree stumps through grinding, ensuring the area is left clean and safe. 4. Debris Disposal: Properly dispose of all tree and brush debris in accordance with local environmental regulations. 5. Fleet and Equipment Requirements: The vendor must provide an adequate number of fleet vehicles and the necessary equipment to fulfill all duties, including bucket trucks, chippers, stump grinders, and other relevant machinery. 6. Emergency Response: 24-hour on-call services with a 2-hour response time for emergency tree services. 7. Sub-Contracting: Vendors are allowed to sub-contract work with prior approval from the Commissioner of Public Works for City of West Haven. 8. Miscellaneous Duties: Other related tasks not outlined in the RFP as assigned by the Tree Warden or the Commissioner of Public Works.
