Remodeling of a fire / police facility in Okeechobee, Florida. Completed plans call for the remodel of a fire / police facility.
Okeechobee County is currently accepting written proposals from licensed, qualified firms for the renovation of the existing kitchen for Okeechobee County Fire Rescue Station #1 - 501 NW 6th Street, Okeechobee, FL 34972. All questions to be submitted in writing to Tiffany Gould - Project Coordinator @ (863)763-0805 or via email tgould@okeechobeecountyfl.gov. Bidding firms shall be responsible for all materials, measurements, safety measurements, storage, site security, permits and labor necessary for acceptable and final completion of this project. Work may include, but is not limited to, removal and replacement of all kitchen cabinetry and counter tops, wall and flooring repair, plumbing, electrical, as well as finish carpentry, caulking/sealants, and trim work. Scope of Work The Contracted firm shall be responsible for the complete removal, disposal, and replacement of all upper and lower cabinetry and countertops within the kitchen area. The contractor shall assess the current cabinetry layout, use of countertop space, department storage needs and provide the County with multiple conceptual drawings for review and approval. Work shall be quoted as detailed below. 1. All upper and lower cabinetry to be commercial rated. 2. Typical 5/8" plywood construction is acceptable for the sides and backing having all exposed surfaces covered with laminate, including toe kicks, interior and interior shelving. Particle board & melamine are not acceptable products for this bid. 3. Cabinet doors and drawer facing will be 3/4" plywood having high pressure plastic laminate with 3mm PVC edging from the following manufacturers: Formica, Nevamar, Panolam, Wilsonart or Pionite 4. The cabinet and drawers shall be equipped with heavy duty commercial rated soft close hinges and drawer closures. 5. The awarded firm shall supply the County with all product submittals and color samples for approval before any items are ordered. 6. Cabinetry should be properly secured to the floor and walls, adding additional supports and backing if necessary. 7. The countertops should be fabricated to be seamless. If seams are necessary - they should be beveled in such a manner as to ensure a smooth transition to the connecting piece. 8. Removal and replacement of the kitchen sink to be a drop in single bowl basin stainless steel sink measuring no less than 30-33" across 16" wide and minimum 10" deep. 9. Removal and replacement of the existing faucet to be a commercial rated single handle faucet with spray options. Finish to be approved by the County. 10. The awarded firm shall be responsible for the disconnection, removal and reinstallation of all appliances and fixtures, including but not limited to; dishwasher, water heater, sink, disposal, drains, and electrical and plumbing lines. All work to be completed to the satisfaction of the County. 11. Replacement cabinetry should follow the existing footprint to avoid any additional tile or drywall repairs. 12. Should tile work or drywall/stucco repairs be required, the contractor shall be responsible for subcontracting that work and ensuring a quality uniform appearance that satisfies the County. 13. Upon removal and disposal of all cabinetry and countertops, the awarded firm shall assess all subfloor and wall/ceiling attachment points for new cabinetry and counters and make appropriate repairs to ensure structural integrity for new installation. The following items shall be bid separately with some considered as alternates. Okeechobee County reserves the right to accept all or portions of this bid to best suit the needs of the County.
