Demolition and site work for a municipal facility in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

Work under this contract consists of but not necessarily limited to: Recover salvageable items in the buildings, from five abandoned buildings plus two sheds to be demolished. Pay necessary inspection, permit and tipping fees, (will be reimbursed on actual). Install proper fencing with lockable gate around the buildings and maintain until completion. Disconnect existing services and or relocate if required, to obtain clearance. Contractor to employ an environmental specialist and or a contractor, if they have no in-house team to support the abatement procedure, and report periodically to GN and their environmental consultant, of the process and progress. Maintain trained team for decontamination works, with all required equipment and facilities at site. Contactor to provide safety equipment to all authorized personnels and visitors at site. Remove all hazardous materials containing, e.g. asbestos, mercury, lead, PCB, spilled fuel, etc. with proper abatement procedures, store, ship and dispose to designated registered hazardous waste facilities down south, with chain of custody. Issue ‘Clean bill of health’ certificate, duly approved by GN and their environmental consultant. Demolish the buildings and dispose non-hazardous materials to municipalities solid waste site. Backfill and compact the sites with suitable granular material to match existing ground levels of surrounding areas. Remove all surplus materials and equipment from site, and handover to the authorities, ready for future constructions. See ‘Summary of Work’ in the specification for more information.
