To execute and construct all the work required in the completion of Centreport Road reconstruction, being the removal and replacement of existing asphalt road(s), according to Standard Asphalt Road Design (policy No. TR-07). A bidder may quote on any one, two, three, or all four of the following pieces of work ("Work"): Scope #1-605 metres of Wheatfield Road from 80m north of CentrePort Canada Way to Roy Roche Drive. Scope #2 Scope #1 plus 550 metres of Roy Roche Drive from Wheatfield Road to Brookside Boulevard Scope #3-1,490 metres of Wheatfield Road from CentrePort Canada Way to Farmer Road. Scope #4 Scope #3 plus 550 metres of Roy Roche Drive from Wheatfield Road to Brookside Boulevard. Note 1: In all cases, Work includes activities to ensure drainage ditches are restored to grade as needed and any traffic/safety control measures required during construction. Note 2: In all cases, Work includes painting road lines in accordance with the Road Standards. The contractor must comply with the specifications attached hereto as Schedule "A", in providing the services. Additionally, the following is provided to clarify the extent of the Work expected: a) For Scope 1: Wheatfield Road from Park Royale Way to Roy Roche Drive, the standard specifications for shoulder width may be decreased to 1.5m and the embankment slope may be increased from the standard to 3:1. The road construction must include removal of the surfacing and base layers to clay, then installation of geotextile, sub-base, base, and asphalt in accordance with the standard specifications. Relocation and regrading of the ditches is expected to occur and should be priced in. Culverts through the road should be removed and replaced; approach and hydrant culverts should be reused and reset where needed and found in good condition. Some engineering studies have been undertaken to refine the scope of work and some draft drawings are attached for reference for quantifying the material volumes. b) For Scope 2: the total road width of Roy Roche Drive should be maintained as-is. The road surfacing should be removed to clay and reconstructed according to the municipal standard. Culverts through the road should be removed and replaced. Ditches should only be touched-up where damaged by this contractor or as indicated by the Public Works Foreman. Maintenance of the longitudinal grade of the road (survey) will be the responsibility of the contractor. c) For Scope 3: follow (a), above, for Wheatfield Road to Roy Roche Drive. From Roy Roche Drive to Farmer Road, remove asphalt, recompact existing base course and add sufficient base course to achieve design grades according to the 2008 Engineering Plans, attached hereto. Replace all thru-road culverts. d) For Scope 4: follow instructions of (b) and (c) above.
