The City of Lakeland is Seeking the Services of a Qualified, State of Florida Licensed and Experienced Contractor to Provide All Required Administration, Materials, Tools, Permits, Equipment, Labor, and Supervision for Furnishing All Services for Up to Five (5) Lower Floridan Wells. Said Wells May or May Not Include Surficial and Upper Floridan Monitoring Wells. Contractor Should Have the Ability to Install at Least Two Lower Floridan Wells at Two Separate Locations for Final Completion December 31, 2026. Contractor Must Also Be Able to Work in Strict Compliance With Both Federal and State Public Funding. This project consists of the construction and testing of four wells at the West Polk Wellfield for the Polk Regional Water Cooperative (OWNER) West Polk Lower Floridan Aquifer Water Production Facility (WPLFA WPF). The work will include construction of one (1) surficial aquifer monitor well (WP-TPW2-SA), one (1) upper Floridan aquifer (WP-TPW2-UFA) construction water source/monitor well, one (1) LFA monitor well (WP-TPW2-LFA), and one (1) lower Floridan aquifer test/production well (WP-TPW2). WP-TPW2-LFA will serve as the hydrogeological test well for the site and WP-TPW2 will serve as a production well for the WPLFA WPF. Well WP-TPW2-LFA will be used as a test well to obtain data on the hydrogeology of LFA strata below the base of the production zone. A borehole will be drilled to the base of the LFA and then back-plugged to the base of the production zone.
