August 26,2024, project was awarded to J.W Cheatham, awarded amount is $10,525,914.80. The Town is proposing the raising of South Sewall's Point Road from Pineapple Lane north to Ridgeland Drive including additional work in (a) South River Road at Marguerita intersection and (b) 1 Mandalay Road retention area. These improvements will include: roadway improvements, stormwater improvements that include two separate exfiltration systems, sheet pile weirs and modifications of a baffle box. The base bid will include roadway, stormwater and utility adjustment items. The alternative bid schedule will include private lot drainage improvements. The resulting contract shall be awarded to the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder whose total base and alternative bids the requirements and criteria set forth in this ITB and whose award will be in the best interest of and most advantageous to the Town of Sewall's Point, taking into consideration, among other things, Base Bid amount, the financial responsibility of the bidder, quality of materials, personnel and equipment resources, proven skill and experience, abilities to timely perform the contract, previous satisfactory performance and such other abilities of the bidder that the Town, in its sole discretion, determines will enable it to perform effectively and efficiently the contract being bid upon. The envelope containing the bid shall be marked as follows: SEALED BID NO. 2024-SSPR3 BIDDER'S NAME AND ADDRESS TO BE OPENED 2:00 P.M. August 1, 2024 Time Date Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond/Security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid and must accompany each Bid in accord with the Instructions to Bidders. The successful Bidder, who is awarded the contract, will be required to furnish a 100% Construction Payment and Performance Bond meeting the requirements of Section 255.05 Florida Statutes. No bidder may withdraw his or her bid for a period of ninety (90) days after submission by the date set for the opening thereof. The Town, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to waive all minor technicalities or irregularities, to reject any or all bids or any part of a bid, to award to a single bidder or to divide the award between bidders, and to re-solicit this bid or any part of this bid.
