Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Austin, Minnesota. Working plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
8th Street NE is being reconstructed as part of the Institute Lift Station project. The road was last reconstructed in 1978. The concrete pavement will be removed and replaced with new asphalt pavement. New sanitary sewer mains will be constructed under the road, and storm sewer will be replaced as necessary. Deficient sidewalk panels will be replaced, and ADA compliant pedestrian ramps will be installed at the intersections. The water and gas mains will be upgraded as needed by Austin Utilities. Project is in City of Austin capital budget FY 2024-2028. As of June 14, 2024, project expected to start June 24, 2024, a contractor has been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
