** As of August 28, 2024 this project has been awarded to Leiby Construction, Inc with an awarded amount of $1,176,673.75.** Sealed Bids for the construction of 2023 Water Line Extensions - Contract 105: Project consisting of approximately 7,536 L.F. of 4-inch PVC water main (open-cut), 309 L.F. of 12-inch PVC water main (open-cut), 373 L.F. of 4-inch restrained joint PVC water main (open-cut), 60 L.F. of 12-inch PVC water main in 30" PVC SDR 35 Casing Pipe (open cut), 251 L.F. of 12-inch restrained joint PVC water main (open-cut), 2,657 L.F of 4-inch directionally drilled PVC water main, 900 L.F of 12-inch directionally drilled PVC water main, 92 L.F. of 4-inch free bored PVC water main in 8" casing pipe, 220 L.F. Of 12"-restrained joint PVC in 20" steel bored and/or jacked casing under CSX right-of-way, 115 L.F. of 12" restrained joint PVC in 24" PVC casing pipe under state road right-of-way, and 990 L.F. of 4-inch temporary PVC above ground, as well as the necessary valves, fittings, taps, blow offs, hydrants and stone and pavement replacement and all other related work as specified and shown on the drawings will be received at the office of Rural Lorain County Water Authority. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid or certified check in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid to ensure the execution of the contract for which the bid is made. In case the bid is not accepted, the check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder, but if the bid is accepted and the bidder shall refuse or neglect to enter into a contract with the Rural Lorain County Water Authority within ten (10) days after the time he has been notified of the acceptance of his bid, the said check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the Rural Lorain County Water Authority as liquidated damages for the failure to do so. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after closing time scheduled for the receipt of bids. The Rural Lorain County Water Authority reserves the right to waive informalities and to reject any and all bids. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Questions received less than 7 days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.
