Ingham County (County) seeks proposals from qualified and experienced asphalt contractors for the renovation of the House of Commons parking lot in accordance with the specifications and drawings. This general work consists of all pulverizing, excavation, filling and compaction and other subbase preparation for bringing the parking area to designated levels, together with the placing of hot mix asphalt leveling and hot mix asphalt wearing courses and parking lot striping, including all appurtenances, material, labor (prevailing wages), bonds, insurance, supervision, equipment, and any other miscellaneous or ancillary items as may be necessary and required for a complete and fully functional parking lot area. Each proposal must be accompanied by a bid guarantee in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. Guarantee shall be in the form of a bid bond executed by an approved surety company, made payable to the County of Ingham. Bid guarantee shall run for a period of not less than ninety (90) days. If the successful proposer fails to furnish satisfactory performance and payment bonds and insurance certificates within ten (10) business days after receipt of Notice of Award, such guarantee shall be forfeited to the Owner as liquidated damages. Ingham County reserves the right to increase or decrease any or all of the proposed quantities. The quantities listed in the RFP may be approximate and are stated solely to provide a uniform base of calculation for comparison of proposals and award of contract. No guarantee is made by the County that the actual quantities will correspond with the proposed quantities. The Contractor will be paid based upon his/her lump sum and/or unit prices proposal and any alternates accepted by the County and as may be further modified by Change Order for work added or deleted from the project indicated in the RFP.
