Reference Number 0000355309 Horseshoe Park at West Tollgate Creek is partially inundated by the 100-year flood with a small portion of the inundation at E. Asbury Place potentially impacting residential properties closest to the park. Earlier master plans indicated the bridge at Mexico Ave needed replacement; however, Aurora Water is unsure if that is necessary since previous studies were based on overly conservative design standards. Aurora Water would like the selected consultant to perform a hydrologic study based on current design standards to analyze and understand the impacts from a 10, 50, and 100-year storm events at the West Tollgate Creek watershed. This analysis will assist Aurora Water in making the appropriate design decisions. The design team will determine if upgrading the crossing structure is the appropriate and most efficient method of reducing flooding or if the issues can be solved with other flood mitigation structures.
