LOCATION OF PROJECT This project is located at Aerl Street from Lyon to Pearl Streets, Hazel Street at Indiana Ave, Howard Street Alley East of Ladd Street, Mill Street at Water Street, North Street Alley from Prairie to North Streets, and Plum Street from Prairie Street to Cleary Street. DESCRIPTION OF WORK This work consists of Milling and HMA overlay, PCC curb and gutter repair, PCC sidewalks repair, ADA ramps, and surface restoration. This work shall consist of removal and installation of portland cement concrete sidewalk and sidewalk accessibility ramps on a prepared subgrade. accessibility ramps shall be constructed with curbs as shown on the details. Curbs on accessibility ramps up to 12 inches in height above the top of the walk shall be incidental to this item. This work shall be paid for at the contract unit price for PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE SIDEWALK 4 INCH. CURB REMOVAL This work shall be done in accordance with Article 440. This work consists of removal of curb, curb and gutter, brick, aggregate base, and other similar materials encountered in the removal of curb. Surface restoration shall be incidental to this pay item. Surface restoration shall include seeding Class 1, Mulch, Method 2 or 3 and topsoil. Livingston This work shall be paid for at the contract unit price for CURB REMOVAL. HOT-MIX ASPHALT SURFACE REMOVAL, VARIES 24-00000-00-GM This work shall be done in accordance with Article 440. This work consists of removal hot-mix asphalt surface, A3 surface, aggregate surface course, for full and partial depths for the purpose of resurfacing. Butt joints shall be incidental to this pay item. Butt joints shall extend 25 feet in length. This work shall be paid for at the contract unit price for HOT-MIX ASPHALT REMOVAL, VARIES. REMOVE AND REPLACE SANITARY MANHOLE This work shall be done in accordance with Article 602. This work consists of removing existing sanitary manhole and ensuring the remaining sanitary sewer is free from debris. The manhole shall be 4' diameter precast reinforced concrete. The replacement manholes shall be provided with monolithic precast base. No Cast in Place bottoms will be allowed. Manholes shall be provided with concentric cones. Connections of inlet and outlet sanitary sewer pipes shall be made at the manhole with flexible watertight connections conforming to ASTM C 923. Connections shall be incidental to manhole installation. No additional compensation shall be allowed. PVC sanitary sewer pipe and mission couplings required for connection to existing sanitary sewer shall be incidental to this item. No additional compensation will be given. Frames and covers shall be included in this pay item. No additional compensation will be allowed. Covers shall be lettered "SANITARY". Covers shall be watertight, non-rocking, with self-sealing lids and concealed pick holes. Trench Backfill shall be incidental to this pay item. No additional compensation will be allowed. Surface restoration that is not in the pavement shall be in accordance with IDOT Article 250 and 251. Surface restoration is incidental to this work. No additional compensation will be given. External Sealing Bands shall be used on external manhole joints. External Sealing Bands shall conform to ASTM C 877. This work shall be incidental to this pay item. No additional compensation will be allowed. It is the contractor's responsibility to verify the service and sanitary pipe sizes, locations, and elevations before ordering manhole. Manholes with incorrect pipe locations will be replaced with correct manhole sections. Replacement manholes will be paid for at contractor's expense. Jobsite coring for sanitary manholes will be allowed. Openings that are cored require flexible watertight connections. This work will be paid for at the contract unit price for REMOVE AND REPLACE SANITARY MANHOLE. SANITARY SEWER SPOT REPAIR This work shall be done in accordance with the Standard Specifications for Sewer and Water Construction in Illinois. The work shall consist of PVC pipe matching the internal diameter of the existing sanitary sewer pipe. Elastomeric couplings shall be used to connect PVC pipe to existing sewer pipe. Trench backfill shall be incidental to this item. No additional compensation will be given. Fittings shall be incidental to this item. No additional compensation will be given. The work will be paid for at the contract unit price for SANITARY SEWER SPOT REPAIR.
