Demolition and site work for a residential development in Topeka, Kansas. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.

The City of Topeka is soliciting bids for a residential demolition of the house structure located at 930 SW Jewell Avenue, Topeka, KS. Q And A Close6/21/2024 3:30:00 AM Completion of Demolition and Liquidated Damages. The Contractor agrees that demolition services must be completed within fifteen (15) days from the date that the Notice to Proceed is issued. The City will charge a liquidated damages penalty in the amount of fifty dollars ($50.00) for each and every day in excess of the fifteen (15) day completion period or extension period. Failure to complete the work within fifteen (15) days from the date that the Notice to Proceed is issued may also result in termination of the contract. If events beyond the control of the Contractor prevent completion within the fifteen (15) day period, the Contractor may request an extension of time. 1. The City will arrange for the disconnection of utility service connections. Before starting demolition the contractor must verify that all utilities have been disconnected. The contractor is responsible for calling dig safe to get locates. 2. The sewer shall be capped. This must be completed by a licensed plumber. 3. Demolish and remove the house and foundation. 4. All demolition materials must be dumped in a demolition landfill licensed by Kansas Department of Health and Environment. 5. Demolition landfill receipts to show landfill usage is required prior to payment for services rendered. 6. Remove small shed that sets on driveway. 7. Remove concrete, bricks, landscaping rocks, pavers, tires, cardboard, plywood, limbs, branches and wood on ground, loose trash, debris and rubbish from the premises. 8. Remove all cement pads and interior sidewalks between the City sidewalk and the back of the property. 9. Remove the section of fencing between the house and property line at the Northeast corner of the house. Leave all fencing on property line. 10. All trees, branches and limbs on the ground, incidental to the demolition of the structures. Trees can only be removed if affecting the demolition of the structure. (Include any tree removal necessary with the bid of the structure) **NOTE if a tree in the City ROW needs to be removed the contractor is responsible for contacting the Code Inspector prior to the removal of the tree. 11. All grass/vegetation shall be cut back below the 12 inches to comply with the City of Topeka ordinance. 12. The foundation hole must be inspected to insure no demolition debris is in it prior to back filing of the excavation. 13. The site must be graded to drain away any standing water or drainage way and the ground shall be grass seed ready.
