W91237-24-Q-0081, John W. Flannagan Reservoir Playground Equipment. Please note the solicitation, all attachments, and extended details are accessible by utilizing the below link which will take you to the PIEE system. Contractor shall furnish all equipment and labor to necessary to supply and install three complete commercial playground systems at John W. Flannagan Dam Campgrounds. The playgrounds shall be designed for ages 5-12 and meet safety and design standards for public use playgrounds. The playground equipment and design shall comply with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission- Public Playground Safety Handbook and the (ASTM) Standard Consumer Safety Performance Specifications for Playground Equipment for Public Use and Public Playground The playground systems shall be able to be large enough to fill the established impact area that has been prepared with enough room for required fall zones, Sites 1, 2, and 3 are 50 x 30 ft., approximately 1,500 square feet. Each system shall be 1 complete unit and contain at least 3 attached slides. Site 1 is located in the Lower Twin Campground area, Site 2 is located in the Pound River Campground area, Site 3 is located in the Cranesnest Campground area. The maximum fall heights for equipment shall not exceed 10 ft and contingent upon impact material the depth shall meet standard according to ASTM Standard and Public Playground Safety Handbook. All fall zones around equipment and swings must meet safety requirements in the ASTM Standard and Public Playground Safety Handbook. If the two Safety documents are in conflict the stricter of the two shall be followed. Playground equipment and impact material shall meet accessibility standards in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. A. Contractor shall obtain three differently themed commercial playground equipment plans and specifications that can fit into a 50 by 30 foot impact area with room around equipment to meet necessary fall zone standards in the Safety Handbook. All three playground systems shall be from one playground equipment manufacturer. Contractor shall provide those plans to Project Office for approval prior to purchase. B. All three playgrounds shall have impact materials installed to proper depth for 10ft fall height. The playground in Cranesnest Campground shall have Pour in Place rubber installed at a minimum depth of 5 3/4 " thickness that follows manufacturer recommendations for installation. Pound River Campground and Lower Twin Campground shall have wood mulch installed at a minimum depth of 9". All playgrounds shall have border material installed capable of containing impact materials, designed for that purpose, can be plastic or rubber, wood material not accepted. Drainage shall be installed in playgrounds to prevent standing water. C. Contractor shall purchase the approved, commercial play equipment systems and is responsible for the transportation of the equipment to the three campground areas. All equipment and supplies needed for installation are the responsibility of the contractor. Corps of Engineer staff will provide prepared sites ready for install of the play equipment systems and impact materials. D. Contractor shall install the commercial equipment according to manufacturer specifications and have specific manufacturer accreditations for construction of their equipment to meet warranty and safety requirements.
