Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Berkeley, California. Completed plans call for the addition of a educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Berkeley, sealed bids for a lump-sum contract are invited for the following work: Bechtel Engineering Center Renovation and Addition - AV Systems & Equipment Audio-Video Systems & Equipment installation and integration on the Bechtel Engineering Center Addition & Renovation. The Audio-Visual Systems & Equipment construction scope of work includes but is not limited to, purchase and installation of specified devices, installation of wiring & devices, assembly, system integration, setup, testing, and training per the contract documents. Scope includes all necessary labor, material, equipment, supplies, and supervision required to complete the work in accordance with the contract documents. Spaces include Large Meeting rooms (2), Medium meeting rooms (2), Small meeting rooms (2), Micro rooms (7), Shared work (3), Project rooms (2), Open Collaboration & Program Delivery (12), Event space and Exhibit areas. AV Trade contractor is expected to coordinate with the General Contractor - XL Construction, Electrical Contractor - Red Top Electric and Low Voltage Contractor - Point One. College of Engineering AV administrator will observe the installation and testing. Notice to Proceed - July 25, 2024 Anticipated Mobilization - September 6, 2024 (Basement above ceiling wiring) Anticipated Start of Equipment Installation - December 16, 2024 Substantial Completion - February 18, 2025 Final Completion - April 18, 2025 To allow the University to evaluate bidders, each bidder must submit with its bid, a Contractor's Special Statement of Experience. This Contractor's Special Statement of Experience must be provided on the Contractor's letterhead. If your firm provides inaccurate or incomplete information your firm will be found non-responsive. If your firm receives negative project references they may be found non-responsive. To be eligible for consideration of award, the Contractor's Special Statement of Experience must include: 1. Documentation that the bidder has successfully completed the following: a. A minimum of three (3) and a maximum of five (5) comparable Audio Visual projects, with a construction value of $1,500,000 or greater, completed in the past seven (7) years that demonstrate the bidder's ability to successfully complete the project with respect to project size, cost, use, complexity, etc. DO NOT include projects currently under construction. b. All submitted projects must be within the immediate nine Bay Area counties. 2. Include the following for each project: (a) project name, (b) project address, (c) owner's name, (d) contract value at award, (e) total Change Order value, (f) completion date, (g) Owner's Representative email address and current phone number and (h) describe how project is comparable to project being bid. 3. List all Audio Visual projects on all UC Campuses and National Labs (LBNL, LLNL) within the last 5 years. Results posted electronically. Original Bid Bond must be received within two (2) business days of Bid Deadline at: Capital Projects, University of California, Berkeley, 1936 University Avenue, Suite 222, Berkeley, CA 94704. Prospective bidders arriving late after the published start time, will not be allowed to participate in the Virtual Pre-Bid Job Walk. Only bidders who participate in the Pre-Bid Meeting will be allowed to bid on the Project as prime contractors. The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: "C-7" - Low Voltage Systems Contractor License Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements. Estimated construction cost: $1,500,000.00
