No proposals will be accepted after the time of closing of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive commissions, irregularities or clerical errors not affecting the compliance with the plans and specifications. All bids are to be exempt from all taxes, including state and federal taxes. Exemption certificates will be furnished upon request. Bids shall be firm for ninety (90) days from the date of the bid opening. Bids must be submitted on the attached bid form and be signed by the bidder. The bid shall be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the owner or any employee of the bidder and any member of the Board or the Superintendent of the District. A Board shall not accept a bid that does not include this sworn and notarized disclosure statement. SCOPE OFWORK: 2.1 The Central Montcalm High School site will require resurfacing of a portion of the main south drive, indicated on the enclosed print. 3.0- PREPARATION- NEWSURFACEAREAS: 3.1 3.2 Paving shall not be placed during rainy or threatening weather or when the moisture on the surface would prevent satisfactory bonding. Do not pave when the air temperature is below 40 degrees F. All old paving/surfaces abutting new pavement shall by cut or milled to straight lines perpendicular to the new surface and tack coat applied. 4.0- Mill and Fill ASPHALT PAVEMENT: 4.1 4.2 4.3 4.4 4.5 4.6 4.7 4.8 Repaired or patched areas: Place the patching bituminous mix to a depth equal to the surrounding non-damaged asphalt and in accordance with MDOT Standard Specifications for Construction. The contractor shall perform milling of the existing Driveway asphalt surface to a depth of typical applications at 1.5" deep. Contractor shall install a Valley Gutter the full length of the replaced asphalt on the south side of the drive. Contractor bid will indicate the price of the contractor removing millings from the work site vs the school district retaining the milling. The contractor will install top coating applications in compliance with the current version of MDOTStandard Specifications. Roll with consecutive passes to achieve even and smooth finish without roller marks. Following the proper curing time, Paint the Driveway as currently marked. The replaced area will be 40 feet by 800 feet long
