The project location is 600 J St., Neligh, NE 68756. The project site will be available for on-site work to commence on or about July 9, 2024. The School District would prefer for the project to be substantially completed as soon as possible. Bidders must submit their proposed date of substantial completion, which proposed date will be considered when bids are evaluated. E-mail, facsimile, electronic, or telephone bids are not allowed. Any bid received after the deadline will not be opened or considered, and will be returned to bidder. The bid will be awarded to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder. The winning bid shall be announced by the Board of Education at its meeting to be held on or about July 8, 2024, or at such other meeting determined by the Board. All questions, inquiries, or requests for clarification or site inspection should be submitted in writing to Tim Ripp, AIA, at tim.ripp@clarkenersen.com. Architect will provide responses to bidders' questions by addendum. The Bidder must submit a bid security on or before the bid submittal deadline in the amount of 5% of the bid amount in the form of a cashier's check, certified check, or bid bond. Bidder pledges that it will enter into a contract with the School District on the terms stated in the bid and will furnish the required bonds covering the faithful performance of the contract and payment of all obligations thereunder. Bidder acknowledges that the damages the School District would incur in the event the Bidder refuses to enter into a contract or fails to furnish such bonds are difficult to determine and are indefinite and uncertain. Therefore, the failure or refusal to enter into a contract or to furnish the required bond(s) shall result in the forfeiture of the bid security as liquidated damages. To secure the faithful performance of the work and to satisfy all of Bidder's payment obligations that arise on the project, the successful Bidder will be required to provide a payment bond in an amount not less than 100% of the Contract Sum through a corporate surety company, conditioned for the payment of all laborers and mechanics for labor that is performed and for the payment for material and equipment rental which is actually used or rented in the performance of the Contract. B. The successful Bidder will also be required to provide a performance bond in an amount not less than 100% of the Contract Sum through a corporate surety company.
