**As of July 8, 2024, no bids received for this project. There is no plan of rebidding. The City of Saco is soliciting bids for an call brick sidewalk rehabilitation project in Saco, Maine. The work in this project consists of the rehabilitation of brick sidewalk throughout the City of Saco. The City of Saco Public Works will identify areas and or segments of brick sidewalk that has been identified as needing replacement. Contractor Work includes but is not limited to: removal of existing brick, installing bituminous concrete, placement of steel sheet piles to protect sidewalk from root intrusion as needed, sand bedding, installation of edging, installation of new bricks (provided by the City of Saco), traffic control (provided by the City of Saco), mobilization and any other incidental work. The City of Saco Public Works may remove all brick driveways and install bituminous concrete prior to project. The contractor shall be responsible for providing all labor, equipment and materials specified to successfully complete the work. All materials are subject to review by The City of Saco. The City may reject any materials that are found to be defective or not up to standards and specifications The City of Saco reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids or negotiate with particular vendors following the opening without right of recourse by bidders, if it is in the best interest of the City of Saco. The City of Saco is sales tax exempt. Completion date of all site work is November 15, 2027. The City of Saco reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids received, waive informalities, and award the contract with or without consideration of the Bid Alternates if applicable. The City of Saco also reserves the right to reduce or increase the scope of work using the unit prices to match available funds. Any Bid may be withdrawn prior to the above scheduled time for the opening of Bids or authorized postponement thereof. The City of Saco also reserves the right to delete any bid item. Any Bid received after that time and date specified shall not be considered. Should there be reasons why the contract cannot be awarded within the specified period; the time may be extended by mutual agreement between the Owner and the Bidder. The party to whom the contract is awarded will be required to obtain a Performance Bond and Payment Bond equal to 100% of the contract value within ten calendar days of signing the "Agreement". In case of failure of the Bidder to sign the "Agreement" or provide the necessary Bonds within this timeframe, the Owner may, at his option, consider the Bidder in default. Question Deadline 06/23/2024: No interpretation of the meaning of the plans, specifications, or other Contract Documents will be made to any bidder orally. Every request for such interpretation should be in writing, addressed to Travis Moore, Deputy Director, Department of Public Works, City of Saco, 15 Phillips Spring Road, Saco, Maine 04072 or at tmoore@sacomaine.org and to be given consideration, must be received at least three (3) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids. Any and all such interpretations and any supplemental instructions will be in the form of written addenda to the specifications which, if issued electronically via email, with return receipt requested, to all prospective bidders, at the respective addresses furnished for such purposes, no later than three (3) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids. Failure of any bidder to receive any such addendum or interpretation shall not relieve any bidder from any obligation under his bid as submitted. All addenda so issued shall become part of the Contract Documents.
