The City of Hendersonville is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to replace the existing horizontal wood railing system with a horizontal cable railing system utilizing the existing wood structure or with an alternate cable railing system. The project location is on the pedestrian boardwalk that runs parallel to Sanders Ferry Road. The boardwalk is located between 198 Sanders Ferry Road and Mallard Point Park and the limit of the change-out of this section is approximately 400 LF +/-. The limits may be extended to improve the visibility of the lake. The scope of work includes the design and build of a cable railing system to replace the existing horizontal wood railing members, while retaining the existing vertical 6 x 6 wood post and the composite top rail or replacing with an alternate cable railing system. Cost and aesthetics will be primary decision factors. The selected contractor will be responsible for ensuring that the new railing system is safe, aesthetically pleasing, durable, compliant with the Disabilities Act standards and local building code. The deliverables for this project are anticipated to include: Site Inspection Report- Detailed findings from the initial site inspection, including any potential challenges and considerations. Design Proposal - Preliminary design plans for the cable railing system & Specifications of materials to be used. Project Schedule - Comprehensive project timeline from start to finish, including key milestones. Cost Estimate- Detailed cost breakdown, including labor, materials, and any other associated costs. Compliance Documentation - Documentation verifying that the proposed design and materials comply with local standards and local codes. Final Inspection Report - Report confirming that the installation has been completed in compliance with local standards and local codes. Warranty Information - Details of warranties on materials and workmanship.
