New York State Local Waterfront Revitalization Program grant of $50,000 to enhance locations along the Erie Canal as it traverses the Village. The grant contract with the Department of State requires that a minimum of $15,000 of the awarded grant must be used for planning and public outreach services provided by an M/WBE-certified firm and included a work plan with tasks and related products expected to be completed The selected consultant(s) will provide guidance and expertise to assist the Village in the development of a Local Waterfront Revitalization Program, which consists of a plan, and local laws and management structure necessary for the implementation of the LWRP. The planning process for the development of the LWRP will identify the village's waterfront revitalization area along Erie Canal and encompassing downtown Newark and impactful surroundings, establish a community waterfront revitalization vision based on public input, develop an inventory and analysis of the local conditions and identify land and water uses and projects that will address issues or build on the existing conditions, examine and enhance the Village Code, and address public input and feedback from State agencies. The Village, public, and local community groups will work together to guide future growth and development, enhance waterfront access, revitalize the downtown, improve Canal-related tourism, and celebrate the Village's Canal and historic heritage. The selected consultant will provide guidance and expertise to assist the Village in the development of Local Waterfront Revitalization Program which consists of a plan, local laws, and management structure necessary for the implementation of the LWRP. Contract term: 1 year Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Set Aside: No Total MWBE Participation Goals: 30% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Contracting Goal: 0% Disadvantaged Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 0% Questions regarding this request should be submitted in writing to: Jonathan Taylor, Mayor Email: JTaylor@villageofnewark.com The Village will consider the following in identification of the preferred consultant: 1. Familiarity with the Village of Newark and recent revitalization initiatives; 2. Experience with New York State's Local Waterfront Revitalization Program and similar planning efforts. 3. The demonstrated technical and staff resources needed to address all RFQ requirements 4. Proposed total project cost by task and required MWBE participation (This project has a New York State M/WBE Goal of minimum $15,000 in grant funded expenses).
