The Project includes providing all materials, equipment, and labor to construct modifications to the City of Uvalde's Public Water System (PWS) Well No.5, including: new vertical lineshaft pump and motor with soft-start controller, new wellhead improvements, new electrical, new instruments and controls, new chlorination system, new site building, new fencing and lighting, and other incidental site improvements shown and described at the City of Uvalde Public Water Supply (PWS) Well No.5 site. A newchlorine dry scrubber system and associated components may be included by the city as Additive Alternate Work. Bond Notes: A Cashier's Check or Bid Bond in the amount of a minimum of five percent (5%) of the total bid price executed shall be included with each bid. The Bid Bond must be executed by sureties or insurance companies that are duly licensed or authorized in the State of Texas to issue bonds or insurance policies for the limits and coverages so required. Further, such sureties must be named in the current list of "Companies Holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds and as Acceptable Reinsuring Companies" as published in Circular 570 (amended) by the Financial Management Service, U.S. Department of the Treasury, andmeet other requirements as provided in the General Conditions and Supplementary Conditions. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex age or national origin. All contractors/subcontractors which are debarred, suspended, or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project. Bidders shall provide proof of qualifications to perform the Work as described in Paragraph 5 of the Instructions to Bidders. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any and all bids, or to waive any informality in the bid process.
