California will have to build public charging stations at an unprecedented pace to meet the needs of 7 million electric cars expected on its roads in less than seven years. State projections show a million public chargers are needed by the end of 2030. That's almost 10 times more than the number available to drivers in December. Obstacles to hitting that goal include costs, permitting processes and the need for power grid upgrades. Many experts and lawmakers fear that the state won’t be prepared. Stanford professor Bruce Cain called the goal unrealistic. Patty Monahan is on the state agency responsible for the ramp-up and she says she's confident the chargers can be built in time. _______________________________
Work consists of installation of EV Bus Charging Stations and associated work. Notice is hereby given that the Governing Board of the St. Helena Unified School District
(“District”), of the County of Marin, State of California, will receive sealed bids for the
EV Bus Charging Stations Project (“Project”) up to, but not later than, 2:00 PM, on
May 28, 2024, and will thereafter publicly open and read aloud the bids. All bids shall be
received at the office of the St. Helena Unified School District, 465 Main St, St Helena,
CA 94574 . Each bid shall be completed on the Bid Proposal Form included in the Contract Documents
and must conform and be fully responsive to the invitation, the plans and specifications and
all other Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract Documents are available by request to
the District’s Construction Manager, Greystone West Company, via email to Diana
Garbuzov at diana@greystonewest.com. Each bid shall be accompanied by cash, a cashier's or certified check, or a bidder's bond
executed by a surety licensed to do business in the State of California as a surety, made
payable to the district, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount
of the bid. The check or bid bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder to whom the
contract is awarded will execute the Contract Documents and will provide the required
payment and performance bonds and insurance certificates within ten (10) days after the
notification of the award of the contract
