Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Charles City, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a swimming pool; and for site work for a swimming pool.

Repair of pool structures and replacement of pool mechanical equipment. Group A will consist of all work performed outside of the pool equipment room including concrete work, expansion joint replacement, pool feature removal and addition and pool finish work. Group B will consist of all the work necessary inside of the pool equipment room including the replacement of the pool filtration pump, filters, chemical booster pump, plumbing, and electrical work. Group A - Low Bidder - Woodruff Construction $355,300, Group B - Low Bidder - Carrico Aquatic Resources $214,000 Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Engineer in writing, please direct all inquiries regarding EJCDC copyrights to NSPE. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Chapter 26, Section 26.8, and as specified by the City of Charles City, in the amount fixed in the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder will be required to furnish bonds in an amount equal to one-hundred percent (100 percent) of the contract price,said bondsto be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment for all materials and labor and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of Contractor. The work shall commence on the day indicated in the Notice to Proceed and shall be substantially complete on or before April 18, 2025 for Group A, substantially complete on or before May 23, 2025 for Group B, and completed and ready for final payment on or before June 30, 2025. Should the Contractor fail to complete the work in this timeframe, liquidated damages of $250 per calendar day for substantial completion and $250 per calendar day for final completion will be assessed for work not completed within the designated contract terms. Bidders are strongly encouraged to visit the Site and conduct a thorough visual examination of the Site and adjacent areas. During the visit the Bidder must not disturb any ongoing operations at the Site. Bidders visiting the Site are required to arrange their own transportation to the Site. Bidder must conduct the required Site visit during normal working hours. All Site visits must be conducted prior to July 11, 2024.
