The 1ST AND 3RD STREET PARKING IMPROVEMENTS project involves the development of two PCC parking lots and associated enhancements. The first parking lot, located on the north side of 1st Street SW between Garfield St SW and Grant St S, includes the construction of an angled 16-stall parking area, replacement of deteriorated road panels in the westbound direction of 1st Street SW, sidewalk construction, secondary electrical service, and overhead lighting improvements. The second parking lot, situated at the southeast corner of 3rd St SE and Main St SE, features the construction of a 15-stall parking area, permeable pavement sections, sidewalk improvements, overhead lighting, and storm sewer enhancements. All bids shall be made on a form furnished by the City and shall be filed on or before the time specified above, in a sealed envelope addressed to the City Clerk of Bondurant, Iowa, clearly stating that the envelope contains a bid on this project. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's or certified check drawn on an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. If a bid bond is submitted, it must be on the form provided with the contract documents. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract and guaranteeing payment to all persons supplying labor and/or materials in the execution of the work provided for in the contract. Additionally, the contractor must provide the City with a guarantee of maintenance of said improvement in the form of surety for a period of four (4) years from the time of acceptance by the City. Work on said project shall begin after the notice to proceed is issued and the contract is awarded on July 15, 2024. The project must reach Substantial Completion by November 22, 2024, which includes the construction of both parking lots, all paved areas, storm sewer, electrical improvements, and making the sidewalk and parking sections available for public use. The entire project must be fully completed by May 30, 2025. Final Completion includes full restoration and seeding, tree plantings, wooden fence construction, and all remaining items not related to the substantial completion of the project. The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive any and/or all technicalities and/or all irregularities.
