Oak Island Park Poured in Place Rubber Safety Surface Installation. Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Question Deadline 07/04/2024 All questions by the prospective bidders as to any information contained within this bid package, request for interpretation or correction of an ambiguity, inconsistency or error therein must be submitted in writing to Michael Piccardi, Purchasing Agent, City of Revere, City Hall, 281 Broadway, Revere, MA 02151, 781-286-8157, purchasing@revere.org at least five (5) days prior to the date set herein for bid opening. Oak Island is a neighborhood park that serves an Environmental Justice population. The park
consists of a baseball diamond, a basketball court, an artificial turf soccer practice field and a
large playground with a mulch safety surface.
B. SCOPE OF SERVICES:
1. Remove all wood engineered fiber from the footprint of the playground lot.
(estimated to be 12 inches deep).
2. Dispose of the playground mulch material.
3. Add crushed stone as needed to support the installation of the poured in place
safety surface.
4. The thickness of the safety surface shall be appropriate to support the fall heights.
(see the equipment fall heights in diagram attached.)
5. The safety surface should be graded for seamless entry at the park gate at the
Dashwood Street entry. (see attached photo)
6. Request for Red, Blue and Green colors, provide sketch of proposed color
scheme.
7. The park must be secured by the contractor during construction.
8. Security while the surface is drying is the responsibility of the contractor. (a
Revere Police detail may be available, if you do not have a security resource, if
interested, this must be coordinated and paid by the contractor.
9. The vendor will work with the City of Revere to design the color scheme of the
safety surface and provide two renderings.
10. Vendor must provide documentation that their surfacing is ASTM 1292 certified.
11. The project should be completed no later than ninety (90) days from the date of
the execution of the contract
