The purpose of the project is to address the deterioration of the existing bridge while improving the hydraulic capacity of the crossing. The existing structure is a prestressed concrete box beam bridge 30'-0" in length with 18' skew misaligned with the existing channel banks. Due to lack of channel erosion protection the channel banks are eroded with major damage. The replacement structure will be a single span prestressed concrete box beam bridge 38'-0" in length with 20' skew to more properly align with the channel banks. Class 2 revetment riprap will be placed for erosion and scour protection at each proposed abutments. Permanent impacts of Class 2 revetment riprap below the base flood elevation (BFE) result from the bridge replacement totaling 0.08 acre (181.33 cubic yards). Flat clearings on both sides of the channel will be created for wildlife crossings. No temporary impacts below BFE or OHWM will occur.
