Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Wyoming, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

Wyoming Fire Stations- Burton and Division Lot Resurfacing Work All work shall be performed in accordance with the City of Wyoming's Standard Specifications for Construction and the most recent MDOT Standard Specifications, except as modified herein. Work consists of cold milling, paving, and pavement marking as detailed below: Cold Milling Work shall include cold milling of the existing parking and drive areas to a depth of four inches. Average depth of existing asphalt from cores collected is included in these bid specifications. The Contractor shall take extra care not to damage the existing concrete with the mill. Any concrete with damage two inches deep or greater shall be removed and replaced at the contractor's expense. Damaged curb sections shall be removed up to the existing joints. All required fine grading and compaction on the subgrade, subbase and aggregate bases shall be included in the Cold Milling unit price. Any extra subgrade material needed should be included in a separate line-item unit price by ton. Millings to be disposed of by Contractor. Paving Paving operations shall be scheduled to minimize commercial traffic driving on the new pavement during rolling operations. This may require work on weekends, early mornings and/or late evenings. Paving operations shall also be planned to minimize cold joints. The contractor shall propose a paving schedule/plan to the City for discussion and approval. The required bond coat shall be included in the cost of furnishing and placing HMA base and wearing courses. Trackless tack is required for all bond coats. Paving mixture used for both sites shall be 3C for the base course and 5EML for the wearing course. The City will conduct material density testing. Material shall meet standard Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) density specifications. Pavement Markings Both sites require waterborne pavement markings typical of a commercial parking lot. New pavement markings shall match existing pavement marking layout. Bid Surety All proposals greater than $100,000 must be accompanied by the bid bond, deposit of cash, certified check, bank cashier's or bank official's check, drawn on a solvent bank payable to the Treasurer of the City of Wyoming, as guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into. Bid surety to equal 5% of the amount of the Bid. The bid bond should be executed by an authorized surety, guaranty, or trust company. If corporate surety is given, the surety or guaranty company should indicate the bond in the State in which it is incorporated. A certificate of authority authorizing the "attorney-in-fact" to sign the bond, should accompany the Bid Document unless the certificate is on file in the City Purchasing Department. The surety signature should be witnessed. Performance Bond For proposals greater than $50,000, the successful bidder shall furnish a performance bond or other surety in a form acceptable to the City Attorney. If not using performance bond, surety shall be provided by an irrevocable standby letter of credit or a check payable to the "City of Wyoming." All must be in the full amount of the contract price as stated in the bid. If a certified check is used, if will be deposited in a non-interest bearing account and will be held until the project is fully complete as provide in the Contract. Payment Bond For proposals greater than $50,000, the successful bidder shall furnish a payment bond. In lieu of a payment bond, bidder may provide a certified check payable to the "City of Wyoming" equaling the amount of the bid price. If a certified check is used, if will be deposited in a non-interest bearing account and will be held until the project is fully complete as provide in the Contract. Completion date: September 16, 2024. The Contractor shall include a preliminary schedule for each site with their bid submittal. Burton Fire Station: Work shall be performed between August 12 and September 16, 2024, while scheduling with building construction contractors to ensure complete access to the lot. Division Fire Station: Work shall be performed in August 12 and September 16, 2024, while scheduling with building construction contractors to ensure complete access to the lot.
