Bridge Repair Various Locations Citywide Question Cutoff Date: 7/8/2024 01:00 PM (ET). Questions should be addressed to: David Tingle, Public Works Design Manager at (409) 880-3725. This project consists of repairs and retrofits of thirteen bridges in Beaumont, Texas to address safety and serviceability concerns identified in previous routine assessments. Repairs and retrofits for each bridge shall be completed according to the specifications included or referenced in this document and the associated construction drawings. Refer to the construction drawings for a summary of work to be completed for each bridge. All work shall be coordinated with the City of Beamont This contract shall include all necessary labor, equipment, tools, materials, safety measures, environmental protection, disposal of surplus items, site restoration, and all other related construction, all in strict accordance with the construction plans and specifications. SUMMARY OF WORK: This work shall include: 1. Mobilization 2. Completion of structural repairs and retrofits of bridge elements as indicated and described in the construction documents. 3. Repair, installation, and/or replacement of bridge and roadway safety features as indicated on the construction documents. 4. Traffic control during the duration of the work as required and specified in the construction documents. Each work item is associated with a TxDOT bid code and specification item. Each TxDOT specification item that is relevant to this project is listed below with a brief description of the work the related work. Refer to the construction documents for a description of the work associated with each bridge and a table summarizing the total quantities for each bid item included in this project. GENERAL The Work to be performed under this Contract shall consist of furnishing all tools, equipment, materials, supplies, and manufactured articles and for furnishing all transportation and services, including fuel, power, water, and essential communications, and for the performance of all labor, work, or other operations required for the fulfillment of the Contract in strict accordance with the Contract Documents. The Work shall be complete, and all work, materials, and services not expressly shown or called for in the Contract Documents which may be necessary for the complete and proper construction of the Work in good faith shall be performed, furnished, and installed by the Contractor as though originally so specified or shown, at no increase in cost to the Owner. SCOPE OF WORK COVERED BY THESE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS A. The Work of this Contract comprises the construction of: Bridge repairs of thirteen (13) bridges along various roadways throughout the City of Beaumont. B. The Work is located within the corporate City limits of Beaumont, Texas. Bidders must submit an original Bid Bond, Cashier's Check, Certified Check or irrevocable Letter of Credit issued by a bank satisfactory to the Owner, payable without recourse to the order of the City of Beaumont in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the largest possible bid amount as a guaranty that the Bidder will enter into contract and execute bond and guaranty in the form provided within fourteen (14) calendar days after date of Notice of Award of the contract. Bids without the required financial security deposit will not be considered.
