Rutherford County Schools intends, by this bid, to seek licensed Electrical Contractors, Plumbing Contractors, and HVAC Contractors who are certified and registered in the State of Tennessee to perform services outlined within this specification for modifications, retrofit, upgrade, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair for any school in our system. Rutherford County Schools does not guarantee a minimum or maximum number of projects for services and reserves the right to publicly advertise a project. Bid Requirements: o The awarded contractor shall provide professional electrical, plumbing, and/or HVAC repair and installation services in accordance with departmental specifications, the National Electric Code and all other applicable code requirements. o The awarded contractor will be required to obtain any and all applicable permits, which may be required to facilitate the requirements of this specification. o It is the responsibility of the awarded contractor to determine measurements and inspect conditions. o It isthe responsibility of the awarded contractor to provide the dumpster for the job site material cleanup. o It is the responsibility of the awarded contractor to clean up the work area every day and remove any ladders from the side of the buildings. o Parts and materials will be provided on a cost-plus basis. o Contractor warrants that sound engineering and construction principles and practices will be used in the performance of the work. Contractor warrants that the work shall be free from defects for one year from the date of completion and acceptance of the work. o Contractors' are to be licensed in their respective field. A business license and tax ID number are also required. o Workers' compensation insurance as provided by the labor laws of the state of Tennessee. o Complete and return the attached Affidavit for Drug-Free Workplace per T.C.A. 50-9-113. o Complete and return the attached Affidavit for Criminal Background Compliance per T.C.A. 49-5-413. o Contractors' to comply with all applicable federal, OSHA, state, county, and local laws, ordinances, codes, and regulations. Where any of these are in conflict, the more stringent requirement shall be followed. o Proof of insurance in the amount of $1,000,000.00 will be required with the bid documents. o Performance Bonds will be required for any work over $100,000.00 in the amount of 100% for the bond. o All sales and use tax required in this bid are the contractors' responsibility. The bid awarded shall run for a period of twelve months with four options to renew annually for an additional twelve-month period under the same terms and conditions upon agreement by both parties. However, in no event shall the contract exceed a total of sixty (60) months. o Bidder to have the accounting ability to submit billings as required by the Davis Bacon Act should the owner use Federal Funds for select projects. Contractors are required to perform the labor and materials for the above discipline. Prior to the contractor performing any work, the Contractor may be required to provide a written quote of the cost of the repairs. Contractor must provide evidence of purchase price for all parts to be marked up. All work performed by the Contractor will be subject to inspection by RCS or designated representative.
