Renovation of a hospitality development in Westbrook, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a hospitality development.

As of August 6, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established. The Town of Westbrook ("the Town") invites qualified bidders to submit proposals for the removal and replacement of the roof at the Bushnell House, 121 S. Main Street, Westbrook, Connecticut. The final award will not be based solely on price but a combination of cost, qualifications, and the determination of the Town of the successful bidder. Provide all necessary materials, labor, and equipment to complete the installation of new asphalt shingles on the Bushnell House as follows: o Remove existing roof shingles down to bare wood. o Install 1/2 " CDX plywood on the entire roof surface. o Install Grace Ice and Water Shield on all plywood. o Install cedar breather over the entire roof surface. o Install copper drip and rake edge around the perimeter of the roof. o Install 5/8" taper-sawn blue label CCA red cedar shingles at 5-1/2" exposure using #316 stainless steel nails. o Install 20 oz. copper ridge cap o Remove existing V Gutters and hanger brackets o Install Gutter Hanger Brackets o Install gutters to match existing V Gutters with 1"x4" - 1"x6" PVC (approximately 100 ft. of gutter) o Install a copper strip with 2", revealing it 10' down from the ridge to prevent algae growth. o All rubbish is to be cleaned and hauled from the property. o The contractor shall keep the work area neat at the end of each workday and keep it contained throughout the duration of the job. If a particular brand name is specified, the intent is not to discriminate against any equal product from another manufacturer but to establish a minimum standard requested for this purchase. The bidder must keep the work area clean at all times. The Town reserves the right to waive informalities, reject the entire bid, or any part thereof, or award services separately if deemed in the Town's best interest.
