The City of North Vancouver CNV") invites submissions for the prequalification of General Contractors (GC) who have experience in providing construction services relating to structural, civil, electrical, environmental, traffic management, construction staging, and construction management for the successful and timely delivery of the new Casano-Loutet Pedestrian and Bicycle Overpass. Description of the required services, criteria for prequalification, and the selection process is set out in this Request for Qualification (RFQ). The new Casano-Loutet Pedestrian and Bicycle Overpass is to be located within CNV limits crossing Highway 1 east of the Lynn Valley interchange. The new overpass carries a multi-use path over Highway 1 and connects the north end of Loutet Park with Casano Dr. in the Cedar Village neighbourhood. The purpose of this RFQ is to establish a shortlist of GCs to bid on a variety of tasks, including but not limited to structural, civil, electrical, environmental, traffic management, construction staging, and construction management for the successful and timely delivery of the new Casano-Loutet Pedestrian and Bicycle Overpass. The GC will be engaged using an MMCD (2019) based contract. The scope of work will include: A three-segment steel bridge featuring a 44m long central span and two 17m long side spans A continuous steel box-girder bridge superstructure supporting a C.I.P. concrete pathway and precast concrete deck panels Two concrete support piers set on concrete caisons Two concrete abutments set on concrete spread footings A Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) retaining wall north of the bridge The removal of significant areas of native silt and clay soils in both the north and south approaches to the bridge Ground improvements at the south abutment using Rapid Impact Compaction (RIC) A 4m wide (minimum) multiuse asphalt pathway on either side of the bridge Rainwater management infrastructure Hard and soft landscape features Transportation improvements to the intersection of Casano Dr and Rufus Dr Archaeological management using 'Chance Find Procedure' protocols
