The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, labor, tools, skills, equipment, and incidentals for the construction of the aforementioned project. The approximate principal items for construction are: o Project consists of the construction of a multi-use trail beginning at the baseball fields on Alumni Drive and following Rottenwood Creek to Franklin Gateway. Any questions will be provided in an addendum which will be released by Wednesday August 21st at the latest One contract will be awarded covering all the work, and the construction time shall be <1095> Calendar Days for the base bid items. Due consideration will be made with respect to time charged to the project based on weather issues. This project has a 12% DBE goal. Each bid or proposal must be accompanied by a cashier's check or certified check on a duly organized bank made payable to the City of Marietta or a bid bond executed by the bidder and surety company authorized to transact business in the State of Georgia, in the sum of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the base bid. Said check or bond will be returned to unsuccessful bidders as soon as the Contract between the Owner and the successful bidder has been executed by the Owner. Performance and payment bonds meeting requirements of GDOT Section 103.05 will be required. The performance Bond is to be 100% of the contract amount and the payment bond is to be 110% of the contract amount. The Georgia Department of Transportation Standard Specifications Construction of Transportation Systems, 2021 Edition, GDOT Supplemental Specifications Book, 2016 Edition, and applicable Supplemental Specifications and Special Provisions apply to this project. All testing shall meet The Applicable GDOT specifications govern over any conflicting requirements that may be found in the Agreement, Supplemental General Provisions, and General Conditions. Bidders submitting bids over $2,000,000 shall be prequalified with the Georgia Department of Transportation. Bidders submitting bid $2,000,000 or less shall be prequalified or registered subcontractors with the Georgia Department of Transportation. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids for a period of 120 (120) days. Only a bid or proposal submitted by a bidder on record with the City of Marietta engineering as having received specifications will be opened. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive formalities and re-advertise; and to reduce or add to the contract from time to time.
