This is a five span, 142 feet long prestressed concrete bridge built 1975 with a substandard clear roadway width of 22 feet. The 2021 bridge inspection report states the bridge is currently in poor condition, currently has no load posting, and serves 4898 vehicles per day. The road has been closed several times in the last year for emergency repairs to the deck. The project will replace the existing bridge and includes geometric improvements to the intersection of Mechanics Valley Road and Bouchelle Road. Right of way acquisitions are complete. This project is included in the county’s fy 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program. As of December 3, 2024, further details regarding construction and completion timelines have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
