DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The project is officially known as "Town of Forestville Roads 2024 - LRIP #18659". The project is described as pulverizing, widening, and repaving a portion of Old Krueger Road and County Line Roads located in the Town of Forestville, Door County, WI. This project is partially funded by the WI DOT Local Roads Improvement Program (LRIP) - Project ID# 18659 In general, work consists of the following: Reconstruction, widening, pulverization, re-pavement, marking, and culvert installation on approximately 1.5 miles of Town roads in the Town of Forestville. The project roads are Old Krueger Road - from County Road J to County Line Road, and County Line Road from State Highway 42 to Old Krueger Road. LEGAL PROVISIONS: The Contract letting shall be subject to the provisions of Sections 60.47, 66.29, 66.293, and 779.15 of the Wisconsin Statutes. ALTERNATE BID ITEMS: The low bidder for purposes of award shall be the conforming responsible bidder offering the low aggregate amount for the Base Bid item, plus or minus those Alternate Bid items providing the most features of the work within the funds determined by the Town to be available before bids are opened. After determination of the low bidder as stated, award in the best interests of the Town may be made on the selected Base Bid item and any combination of Alternate Bid items for which funds are determined to be available at the time of the award, provided that award on such combination of bid items does not exceed the amount offered by any other conforming responsible bidder for the same combination of bid items. RIGHT TO REJECT BIDS: The Town reserves the right to reject any and all bids, the right to waive irregularities and informalities in bidding, the right to disregard all nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced or conditional bids, and the right to accept the bid which best serves the interests of the Town. CONTRACT SECURITY: The bidder to whom a Contract is awarded shall furnish a Performance Bond for the full amount of the Contract within 10 days of award or execution of the Contract. The Performance Bond shall contain a provision to increase the Performance Bond by the amount of any change orders that might increase the amount of the Contract price. If such bidder fails to execute and file such Contract and Performance Bond, within the 10-day period, the check, bond, or bank draft accompanying the bid shall be forfeited to the Town as liquidated damages. BID WITHDRAWAL: The Town reserves the right to postpone the award of the contract and no bids shall be withdrawn for a period not exceeding 60 days after the date and time set forth in the Bid Opening.
