for furnishing all labor, materials, andinsurance to perform all workrequired by Chambers Countyand described as follows: Project: Lafayette HighSchool LED Lighting Upgrades Project Summary: Provideand install a complete andoperational lighting systemfor the Lafayette High SchoolFootball field. Sixty (60) calendar days are allowed for the construction of theproject. All bids must be on blank formsprovided in the Specificationsand submitted in it's entirety. Acashier's check drawn on an Alabama bank or a Bidder's Bond,payable to Chambers CountyBoard of Education, Alabama,for an amount not less than fivepercent (5%) of the amount bid,but in no event, more than tenthousand ($10,000) dollars,shall be filed with the proposal,the Bidder's Bond being prepared on the form specified andsigned by a bonding companyauthorized to do business in theState of Alabama. A Performance Bond in theform and terms approved bythe Board in an amount notless than the contract price willbe required at the signing ofthe contract. A labor and materials bond in form and termsapproved by the Board in anamount not less than the contract price, insuring paymentfor all labor and materials, shallalso be required at the signingof the contract. In addition, theContractor must furnish to theBoard at the time of the signingof the contract a certificate ofinsurance coverage as providedin the specifications. The right is reserved to reject any and/orall bids, waive informalities, andfurnish any item of material orwork to change the amount ofsaid Contract. Liquidated damages fornon-completion of the workwithin the time limit agreed uponwill be assessed in accordancewith the terms of the Contract. No bids will be considered unless the bidder, whether residentor non-resident of Alabama, isproperly licensed and qualifiedto submit a proposal for thisconstruction in accordance withall applicable laws of the Stateof Alabama. This shall includeevidence of holding a currentlicense from the State LicensingBoard for General Contractors,Montgomery, Alabama, as required by Chapter 8 of Title 34,of the Code of Alabama, 1975.In addition, non-residents ofthe State, if a corporation, shallshow evidence of having qualified with the Secretary of Stateto do business in the State ofAlabama. Prior to the award of a competitively bid contract to a contractor having one or more employees in the state of Alabama,Alabama law requires that thecontractor provide the Boardproof of enrolment in E-Verify. No bid shall be withdrawn fora period of thirty (30) dayssubsequent to the opening ofbids without the consent of theBoard of Chambers County.
