The successful bidder will be required to furnished a performance and payment bond in the amount equal to the contract award if bid is greater than $25,000. Included in the project are: Boulevard (West Main Road to Miantonomi Avenue less section between Nicholson Crescent to High St), Rosedale Terrace, Ellen Rd. (570 LF. Segment), Gibson Rd., Sherrwood Rd., Columbia Rd. ( Ward Ave. to Ellen Rd.). Paving operations will consist of 2 steps, installation of road base / binder placement, wait 1 season (6 +- months minimum waiting period) then installation of asphalt emulsion tack coat and top / finish course placement. Unless otherwise directed. All work will begin after award of contract estimated to by August 2024, with a binder course completed before October 28, 2024. Finish course will be placed prior to May 26, 2025 unless approved in writing by the Director of Public Works. Settlement areas along these roads will have trench repair consisting of removal and disposal of base material, removal and disposal of gravel material, installation of Tensar 140 geo grid, Mirafi 140N fabric, wrapped and folded, installation of new compacted gravel material and installation of new bituminous pavement. Rosedale Terrace will include drainage structure replacement, tie in of sump pump discharges, and paving. Grading will be set by the contractor, with existing finish grades will be held. Adjustments will be made to provide positive pitch into all catch basin grates. Layout of the sewer and storm drain repairs will also be the responsibility of the contractor Crown will be set at 2% from gutter line to centerline. Catch basin frames will be set at gutter grade as allowed in the field. Finish gutter grades into the catch basins will provide runoff to drain efficiently enter the grates. No puddling or ponding on the finished surface is allowed. All utilities inverts will be re set to pre-construction grades, unless noted on plans. Catch basin frames and grates, sewer manhole frames and covers, water valves and gas valves will be set to binder grade, then just prior to surface course installation adjusted to finish grade.
