The scope of work includes providing removal, replacement, and installation of a full turn-key proximity card system including all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means of construction necessary for completion of the work indicated in the Bid Documents including, but not necessarily limited to, the following: demolition, wiring, networking, coring, engineering, and installation. The work site is Thornwood High School, 17101 South Park Avenue, South Holland, IL 60473; Thornton Township High School, 15001 Broadway, Harvey, IL 60426; Thornridge High School, 15000 Cottage Grove, Dolton, IL 60419, and District Office, 465 E. 170th Street, South Holland, IL 60473. On-site construction is scheduled to commence on or after Monday, August 5, 2024. The district reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, reject nonconforming bids, reject conditional bids, waive irregularities in the bidding procedures, or to accept any bid that, in its sole opinion, best serves the interests of the District. 1. The new system will feature new contractor provided equipment, software and solutions. The systems will run parallel to the current system until such a time when the old system has been authorized by the Manager of Operations for decommissioning and removal. This may occur on a door-to-door basis with the approval of the Manager of Operations 2. The Contractor is responsible for Project management, labor, lifts, tools, cameras, servers, solutions wiring, equipment, access controls, training, labeling, and closeout documents required to complete this job in a FIRST-CLASS manner. 3. The Contractor shall provide all services necessary to install the Proximity card solutions, including design consultation as appropriate. 4. The contractor shall calculate the distance of every component to make sure compliance with the wiring manufacture and applicable code. Only new wiring shall be used. 5. The contractor will conduct the installation as approved by the Manager of Operations. Contractors may install systems during the regular school day. However, when school days are in session, Contractor shall also be aware that the needs of the school and its facilities outweigh the needs of the vendor. District 205 will not be held responsible for delaying the installation or cost associated with the contractor's overtime or shift changes. 6. Provide labor to label all components and document serial numbers for each item provided 7. The Proximity Network will be a separate network and use a separate IP system. 8. The contractor shall provide a solution that is a redundant failover power backup system so that the proximity system will remain working during a utility failure for no less than 4 hours 9. The Contractor shall provide a solution to connect all existing building burglar alarms to the new proximity system. This system shall include a status light that shows the alarm system in an active and deactivated state. The user's proximity card will change the alarm status on each swipe. Green will indicate the alarm is off and red light will indicate the alarm is active.
