Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Alhambra, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The project is located in the southwest area of the City. The project consists of asphalt and concrete work in nine (9) base bid streets and two (2) bid alternate streets, as shown on Sheet 4 and as described on Sheet 3 of the Plans. The total Base Bid length is approximately 11,450 LF, and the total Bid Alternate length is approximately 2,900 LF. Proposals must be accompanied by a proposal guarantee consisting of a bid bond payable to the City of Alhambra in the amount not less than 10 percent of the total amount bid. Any proposal not accompanied by such a guarantee will not be considered. The successful Bidder is required to provide and pay for a performance and a payment bond as stated in SECTION 1-7 AWARD AND EXECUTION OF THE CONTRACT, of the Greenbook (Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction, latest edition). These bonds shall cover the faithful performance (100%) of the Contract for Construction and the payment of all obligations (100%) arising thereunder, in such form as the City may prescribe and with such sureties as they may approve. The successful Bidder shall require the attorney in fact who executes the required bonds on behalf of the surety to affix thereto a certified and current copy of his Power of Attorney indicating the monetary limit of such power. The estimated construction cost for the base-bid work is $1,900,000. The City will deduct a five (5) percent retention from all progress payments. The Contractor shall complete the work within one-hundred and twenty (120) working days of the effective date of City's Notice to Proceed with construction.
