abatement services removal of asbestos and lead Questions Due Date: Jul 19th 2024, 4:00 PM CDT Scope of Work A. Option 1: 1) Abate and dispose of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) identified in the attached Asbestos Inspection and Lead-Based Paint Sampling Report. 2) Contractor shall completely remove and dispose of all ACMs in accordance with MoDNR regulation, Chapter 260, RSMO. The contractor shall abide by the Citys exclusive rights solid waste contract with Republic Services. 3) Any work requiring the closure of any portion of a street shall require the approval of a written traffic control plan. Said plan shall be developed by the contractor and approved by the Director of Public Works or his designee. If the contractors plan requests closure of one or more driving lanes of a street, for any substantial length of time, said plan shall be developed by a registered professional engineer. 4) Successful Contractor shall have a city business license; attend a pre-bid meeting with City personnel to discuss staging, schedule; and provide a Certificate of Insurance to receive a Notice to Proceed. 7 5) Work shall proceed continuously until complete. All work shall be completed within fourteen (14) workdays from the Notice to Proceed. A workday does not include Saturdays, Sundays or City of Jefferson Holidays. B. Option 2: 1) Abate and dispose of lead-based paint (LBP) containing materials identified in the attached Asbestos Inspection and Lead-Based Paint Sampling Report. Specifications: a) Front porch is to be removed and properly disposed of except for one section of dental work at the top of the brick column supports. The section of dental work will be used as a sample for dental replacement. b) Proposals of interior LBP removal should include: Removal of all necessary lath and plaster. Cost for abatement of LBP from trim, molding, flooring, bannisters, railings, fireplaces, interior doors, wrought iron, etc as well as a description of the method(s) used to remove or contain the lead. Determination for rehabilitation of finishing details or disposal will be determined by Transformational Housing. If removal methods are changed from the original described in the proposal, the rates in attachment B will be utilized. Trim and windows, that can be removed without damage, will be donated to architectural salvage. Any damaged trim and windows shall be discarded with other LBP materials. Note: One leaded glass window on the south side of the house will remain in place.
