Introduction: The City of Taunton is requesting bids for the supply of Itron Ert's for the City of Taunton Water Department, located at 90 Ingell Street, Taunton, MA 02780. The City has standardized on the Itron ERT for all water meter endpoints to enable functionality with the data collection system and to allow utilizing water meters from multiple meter manufactures. Wherever it is written the word "Contractor" or "vendor" they shall have the same meaning and are used interchangeably in this document. Document Notes: A paper copy, should you want one, of the Bid Documents will be available at the Procurement Department, 15 Summer Street, Taunton, MA 02780 on the 1st floor in the Treasurer's Office and may be picked up between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4 P.M. One (1) complete set of Bid Documents will be available to each Bidder. The recipient of the document will be required to register on the bid portal to facilitate receipt of addenda. The award of the Contract or rejection of all bids will be made within thirty (30) days (Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays excluded) after the opening of bids and no Bidder may withdraw their bid within this period of time. Bids may be withdrawn only if requested in writing previous to the opening. The contract will be awarded to the responsive and responsible bidder offering the lowest total bid price for all required product. All Bids for the project are subject to the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30B, 5 Option. The City of Taunton reserves the right to waive any minor informalities, to cancel this bid, or to reject any and all bids, in whole or in part, if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City. Questions: Questions concerning this IFB must ONLY be submitted in writing to Andrew W. Sukeforth, Director of Procurement, before 4:00 p.m., Monday, July 8, 2024. Questions may be mailed, delivered or emailed to asukeforth@taunton-ma.gov. Written responses will be emailed to all bidders on record as having received the IFB package. The City of Taunton has identified a sole point of contact with bidders for the purpose of this IFB. Time for Award: The Director of Procurement, after a recommendation from the initiating department head shall review and award. An award of contract will be made within thirty (30) days after the bid submission date or as soon as practicable thereafter. The time for award may be extended for up to thirty (30) days by mutual agreement. Reject Bids: The City reserves the right to cancel this IFB, or reject in whole or in part any and all bids, if the City determines that cancellation or rejection serves the best interests of the City.
