Site work and paving for a road / highway in Altavista, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
The project consists of milling approximately 24,500 square yards of existing pavement along portions of various streets as indicated within the contract documents and applying approximately 4,525 tons of asphalt overlay paving as indicated in the specifications and on the accompanying map. Should the apparent low Bid exceed available funds, the Owner reserves the right to negotiate with the apparent low bidder to obtain a contract price within available funds. Bidders shall comply with Virginia Code Section 54.1-1112 regarding information required with Bid. Envelopes containing Bids shall be clearly marked with the Bidder's contractor license number. The Town reserves the right to renew, or extend, this contract on an annual basis as required, for two (2) additional one-year periods, for a maximum contract period of three (3) years. The Work will be substantially completed on or before September 15, 2024, and completed and ready for final payment in accordance with paragraph 14.07 of the General Conditions on or before September 30, 2024.
