Last fall, the City of Mequon hired an underground sewer contractor to install cleanouts on sanitary laterals throughout several neighborhoods. Restoration around the cleanouts was subpar, resulting in a large number of complaints from the residents. It appears that a combination of poor compaction and/or insufficient material led to settling and in some locations the sod/seed failed to germinate. The City is subsequently requesting quotes from select landscape contractors to complete the restoration. A list of the locations/properties and resident reports is attached to this document for reference. The contractor is not responsible for addressing concerns regarding the height of the cleanouts. The City is seeking lump sum pricing from qualified landscaping contractors to complete final restoration at the properties in the attached list. Final restoration may require any combination of the following: Placement of structural fill Topdressing with 3 inches of screened topsoil Placement of sod ProGreen Plus 300 Seed and mulch Partial Payment for the project (up to 60%) will be issued upon completion and the Final Payment for the project will be issued upon 70% vegetation. The contractor is responsible for ensuring vegetation either through watering or property owner education. Additional compensation for any required reapplication prior to vegetation will not be authorized. The work shall be completed no later than August 30, 2024.
