The City of Jackson is inviting qualified consulting firms to submit proposals for engineering services required for pavement and water distribution system improvements on Ganson Street from Elm Avenue to the east City Limits in the City of Jackson. Question Deadline 07/23/2024 Every request foe Interpretation shall be made in writing to the City of Jackson, Purchasing coordinator. Only those written inquires received 10 or more working days prior to the date fixed for the opening of RFQs will received response. The surface of the pavement on Ganson Street will be rehabilitated by milling and repaving. Prior to repaving, improvements will be made to the water distribution system. Currently, the properties along Ganson Street are served by lead service lines that connect to a pair of cast iron water mains - a ten-inch and a six-inch. The lead service lines are to be replaced with new copper pipe and the six-inch water main is to be taken out of service and abandoned in place. This project will be funded by a combination of federal grant money, City Water Funds, City Major Street Funds and Special Assessments. The construction of this project will be completed by two separate contracts. The construction contract for water distribution system work will be let by the City of Jackson in spring of 2025. Construction shall be completed in 2025. The construction contract for street work will be let by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) through the Local Agency Programs (LAP) office in February 2026. Construction shall commence in spring 2026 and be substantially complete with the street open to traffic in August 2026. Any proposals received after this time will not be reviewed or considered by the City of Jackson.
