The City of Sheridan is seeking a qualified consultant to perform design and construction management services for a widening of the Mary Carter Greenway Trail along the South Platte River underneath US-285. The Project will redesign the existing configuration of the Mary Carter Greenway Trail underneath US-285, expand the width of the trail beyond seven feet, raise the trail to at or above the existing street grade, and design modifications to the existing cross section of South Platte River Drive to accommodate these improvements, which may include lane narrowing. The selected consultant will build upon the concepts and recommendations in the completed South Platte River Trail Under US-285 Design Concepts Study Technical Memorandum, complete preliminary and final design work, obtain required approvals from the City of Sheridan and CDOT, and provide general services in conjunction with the Project. The following tasks will be expected of the selected consultant: o Coordination of on-going meetings, monthly progress reports, and project schedule. o Prepare design drawings, including 30% (FIR), 90% (FOR), and final drawings. o Ensure compliance with applicable FHWA, CDOT, and City of Sheridan requirements. o Ensure compliance with federal standards including, but not limited to, NEPA. o Ensure technical specifications and standard details are prepared based on the latest CDOT standards and specifications. o Complete appropriate environmental study and any additional investigations. o Sourcing and management of any subconsultant services (e.g. enviro., survey, geotech., SUE, etc.) o Participate in, and represent the City at, FIR and FOR meetings with CDOT. o Obtain necessary approvals, permits, and permissions. o Prepare quantities and calculations for the Project. o Participate in advertisement for construction and bid opening. Submition notes: Qualifications packets may not exceed twenty (20) 8 1/2 " x 11" pages, with 11" x 17" sheets counting as two (2) such pages. There is no limit on file sizes (MB) for digitally submitted packets, however, it is the responsibility of the consultant to ensure such files are received by the City and that appropriate file sharing software is utilized. The City of Sheridan will be reviewing qualifications through July 25th, 2024, and anticipates selecting a consultant by August 1st with City Council approval no later than August 26th. The City of Sheridan expects advertisement for construction of the Project to occur within 12 months of the issuance of the notice to proceed for the design phase of the Project. Notice to proceed will be issued after City Council approval. The Project is subject to DBE participation goals. Every federally funded contract requires a DBE Goal. The DBE goal for this project is 7%. The selected consultant commits to the requirements for DBE participation The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
