Demolition, site work and new construction of a residential development in Pasadena, Texas. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; for the construction of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive formalities. House to be constructed on slab, per plans and specifications referenced above. If home is located in a flood plain, benchmark for foundation height will be provided by licensed surveyor before construction and certification will be provided after foundation pour, survey arrangements to made and paid for by Contractor Compliance with Davis-Bacon Act is required for any contract for the construction (rehabilitation or new construction) of affordable housing with twelve (12) or more units assisted with HOME funds and requires that not less than the wages prevailing in the locality, as predetermined by the Secretary of Labor pursuant to the Davis-Bacon Act (40 U.S.C. 3141), will be paid to all laborers and mechanics employed in the development of any part of the housing involved. Such wages are also subject to the overtime provisions, as applicable, of the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act (40 U.S.C. 3701). (Construction Contracts and Sub-contracts in excess of $2,000 when required by Federal grant program legislation). It is the intent of these specifications to award a contract for demolition and reconstruction services for the City of Pasadena. The demolition and reconstruction agreement will consist of all structures of various types of construction (i.e., wood frame, concrete block, stucco, brick, etc.). The Contractor is to provide all necessary equipment, materials, transportation, labor and supervision to remove structures down to and including slabs and/or footing, in accordance with the specifications, unless otherwise specified in the work order. • Design Plans will be supplied by the Community Development Department per project designating all structures and items for removal. • The sewer connections shall be terminated and capped by the Contractor, but left in accordance with the requirements of the City or utility involved for reconnection. The water, gas and electrical connections shall be terminated and capped by the homeowner and/or City. Once the sewer, water and gas connections are visibly capped on the property, inspected by City staff and the Contractor will subsequently backfill. • The work, as described in the contract documents, is summarized as follows: o Demolition of a single-family dwelling. o Reconstruction of a new single-family dwelling and site work per plans and specifications. o Work shall include earthwork, and construction of the house as per plans and specifications. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing and landscaping work shall be a part of the scope of the project. o Specific provisions of this contract may include ADA features including but not limited to concrete ramps and ADA thresholds at all exit doors, job built tile prefab ADA shower, grab bars in shower and at water closet, 27” clear access under all sinks, counter cabinet heights to be 34” maximum as per plans. Question Deadline 07/22/2024 DEADLINE FOR QUESTIONS TO BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING OR VIA EMAIL Each bid must be accompanied by certified check of the bidder, or a bid bond, duly executed by the bidder as principal, in the amount of 5% of the total bid for any bid exceeding $25,000.00 Labor and Material Payment Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the award amount ensuring the payment of all obligations of the Contractor under the contract summary. Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the award amount ensuring performance of the Contractor.
